Car Owner Encountered Unexplainable Vibration Issues With Recently Purchased 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy After 60 Miles; Dealership Unable to Reproduce Problem, Leaving Owner Concerned About Safe Driving

In a recent turn of events, Kathleen Beck, a resident of New Jersey, has encountered a shaking issue with her brand-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The problem occurred just 60 miles after she took delivery of the vehicle.

Kathleen, who traded in her 2021 Calligraphy model with nearly 75,000 miles, expressed her concern about taking the Palisade back home due to the safety of her two daughters. However, the dealership where she bought the car, Causeway Hyundai of NJ, has reassured her that she wouldn't be forced to take back a car she didn't feel safe in.

Causeway Hyundai has been supportive throughout the ordeal, offering to replace the loaner Sonata Kathleen is currently driving with a more family-appropriate vehicle. In fact, they have already swapped her loaner for a more suitable vehicle.

The 2026 Palisade Calligraphy, a high-end model, is equipped with a 3.5-litre V6 GDi engine, delivering up to 287 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with optional all-wheel drive. The vehicle also boasts a three-row cabin, available in 7- or 9-passenger layouts, depending on configuration, with second-row captain's chairs or bench options. When fitted with the factory tow package and trailer brakes, the Palisade Calligraphy can tow up to 5,000 lb.

The Palisade Calligraphy model also includes a dedicated Tow Mode that optimizes engine and transmission settings for improved control while towing. Hybrid variants of the Palisade, while not available in Kathleen's model, include a Smartstream 2.5 L turbo hybrid, driving output around 330 hp and higher torque, though these specs vary by region.

While Kathleen is generally satisfied with her experience at Causeway Hyundai of NJ, she has owned other car brands besides Hyundai, including Honda, Acura, and Toyota. She praised the dealership's sales manager, Ken, and service department employees Karey and Joseph for their professionalism and support during this challenging time.

It's worth noting that common issues encountered early on with the 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy include significant wind noise due to manufacturing quality control problems, such as gaps between glass and door panels, rubber deformation, and improperly seated gaskets, which leads to intrusive cabin noise at highway speeds. Additionally, some owners report problems with the infotainment screen malfunctioning, and early reports also mention oil consumption and engine issues that have prompted recalls or service attention.

Despite these issues, Kathleen has doubled down on her love for the Palisade, noting that problems like this could happen with any brand and emphasizing the importance of consistent service and technician familiarity. Causeway Hyundai has assured Kathleen that they are working diligently to resolve the shaking issue and find a replacement Palisade with the exact specs she wants, including blue with brown interior and "those pretty rims."

As the situation develops, Kathleen remains hopeful for a swift resolution and a safe return to the road in her beloved Palisade Calligraphy.

  1. Kathleen, despite her current issue with the new Palisade's shaking, maintains her love for the brand, highlighting that similar problems could occur with any car, and stresses the significance of consistent service and technician familiarity.
  2. In her previous lifestyle, Kathleen has owned various car brands like Honda, Acura, and Toyota, but her dedication to the sports-oriented lifestyle led her to consider cars like the powerful 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, with its sleek design, spacious 3-row cabin, and towing capability, which aligns with her family-oriented and adventurous lifestyle that often involves car-maintenance for sports activities.
