Car Accident Injures One in Paris Near PSG Fans' Gathering

In a side street close to the Champs Elysees, mayhem erupted as a Mercedes car plowed into a throng of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans. Videos on social media captured the pandemonium, showing fans giving chase to the car and ultimately setting it ablaze after the passengers bailed out.

The authorities have launched a full-blown investigation, arresting nearly 50 individuals for vandalism and possessing flares and fireworks. Over 2,000 police officers were stationed around PSG's Parc des Princes stadium in western Paris for the game, anticipating the euphoria following the match.

The scoreboard flashed "Ruiz and Hakimi on target" as PSG silenced Arsenal to qualify for the Champions League final. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg in north London on 29 April, PSG extended their aggregate lead with Fabian Ruiz scoring his first goal in the illustrious Champions League tournament. Minutes later, PSG midfielder Vitinha missed a penalty, but Achraf Hakimi soon rammed home the team's second.

Although Bukayo Saka scored for Arsenal after 76 minutes, narrowing the gap, PSG held firm, securing a 3-1 aggregate win and a ticket to the final on 31 May at Munich's Allianz Arena against Inter Milan.

As the final whistle echoed, jubilation swept through bars, cafes, and the streets of Paris, with folks gathering outside the Parc des Princes in a spontaneous celebration. However, the party was short-lived, as the police moved in swiftly to quell the chaos.
