Captain Gattuso is currently residing in Philadelphia.
Rino Gattuso, the coach of the Italian national team, visited Torino this morning for a friendly appointment as part of his scheduled meetings with Serie A coaches and players.
Gattuso was welcomed at Filadelfia, the popular restaurant in Turin, by Marco Baroni, the club's director, and sporting director Davide Vagnati. Accompanying Gattuso were Luigi Riccio and Mauro Vladovich, members of his delegation.
Also present were Alberto Barile, the director of operations for Torino, Emiliano Moretti, a collaborator of the technical area and a former Azzurro, and Alessandro Andreini, the team manager for Torino.
The lunch meeting at Filadelfia focused on the championship and the needs of the national team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Gattuso met with Cesare Casadei, the midfielder for Torino and part of the Italy team, during his visit.
Cesare Casadei was not called up for the recent Italy matches against Estonia and Israel due to tactical decisions by the coach, but he is considered a candidate for the October international fixtures. His performance is improving, making him a strong contender for a spot in the team.
During the discussion, the improvement in Casadei's performance was acknowledged, and his potential for the October window was discussed. However, no formal decision has been made yet.
Gattuso received a personalized grenade jersey during his visit, a gesture of appreciation from Torino for his visit and interest in their players.
Notably absent from the meeting were Gigi Buffon and Leonardo Bonucci, both of whom were not part of the visit.
The national team will play in Tallinn and Udine against Estonia and Israel, respectively, during the October window. The outcome of these matches will be crucial in determining Italy's qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The visit by Gattuso to Torino is part of his ongoing efforts to scout and engage with potential players for the national team, as they strive to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
