Capital under Russian assault: 15 suffer injuries, residential areas and shopping centers incur damages
Kyiv experienced a significant nighttime attack by Russian forces, resulting in injuries for over a dozen civilians and damage to various structures. The attack involved drones and ballistic missiles, which targeted residential areas in the Dniprovsky, Solomiansky, and Obolonsky districts.
In the Solomiansky district, an explosion occurred in an apartment on the 5th floor, injuring seven residents aged between 35 and 63. In the Dniprovsky district, a couple residing on the 5th floor of an apartment building sustained injuries when debris fell. The Obolonsky district saw extensive damage to a 9-story residential building, with five residents seeking medical attention. One additional person was injured in the Holosiivsky district.
In addition to residential buildings, a shopping and entertainment center, an educational institution, eight cars, and a boiler room were also damaged. In the Solomiansky district, drone debris striking an apartment resulted in an explosion.
This attack followed another series of drone and ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv. On the night of May 24, Russian forces launched hundreds of drones and missiles from multiple locations, targeting the city with multiple waves of explosions. The Ukrainian Air Force successfully shot down many of the incoming projectiles, but the attack caused substantial damage and injuries.
