Capital Running Event: Over 8,000 Runners to Traverse Fresh Course in Astana

On June 1st, the fourth iteration of the Astana Half Marathon sets foot in the city of Astana. This grand event, orchestrated by the philanthropic organization "Dare to Be First," promises 8,000 spirited participants eager to hit the revised racetrack. All residents are invited to join as runners, cheering spectators, or simply to enjoy the festivities as reported by our trusted website, citing the city's administration.

This year's route will lead participants past Astana's iconic landmarks. The race commences at Independence Square, immediately followed by a crossing over the "Arhar" and "Sygynak - Mangilik El" bridges, offering breathtaking views of Ak Orda and the Yesil River embankment. Runners will continue their journey past the Bayterek monument, Abu Dhabi Plaza, and EXPO.

The race caters to four distances: the 21.1 km half marathon, the 10 km challenge, the 10 km Nordic walk, and the Ekiden relay. Enthusiasts of all ages, from seasoned athletes to beginners, are welcome to join the festivities.

Four years ago, the 'Dare to Be First' fund organized the first Astana Half Marathon with the aim of strengthening the running culture in the capital. Now, running has become a cherished event in major cities. Astana, with its small elevation change, favorable summer weather, and well-established connections with other urban centers, offers ideal conditions for developing running events. Last year, the event attracted over 6,000 participants from 45 countries. This year, organizers aim to draw in even more athletes.

Saltanat Kazybayeva, the executive director of the Corporate Fund "Dare to Be First," shares, "We are committed to nurturing a love for running in our capital. The Astana Half Marathon has become a trademark event for us, and we aim to further promote its reach and popularity."

Finishers who complete the course within the specified timeframe will be rewarded with coveted medals.

It's noteworthy that this race is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS), ensuring high-quality organization and adherence to international standards. The half marathon course is certified according to World Athletics requirements, indicating a commitment to excellence. The event is organized by the Corporate Fund "Dare to Be First," which has been a pillar of sports development in Kazakhstan since 2012, hosting over ten sporting events each year.

The Astana Half Marathon will unfold under the support of the city of Astana's administration.

While specific details for the 2023 Astana Half Marathon might not be readily available, the event's history suggests a well-attended and internationally recognized running tradition in Astana. The race offers an opportunity to experience the urban charm of the city, promote a healthy active lifestyle, and potentially compete with runners from around the world.

Spectators can anticipate the race passing by Astana's renowned landmarks, including Independence Square, the "Arhar" and "Sygynak - Mangilik El" bridges, Bayterek monument, Abu Dhabi Plaza, EXPO, and more.

Saltanat Kazybayeva, the executive director of the Corporate Fund "Dare to Be First," underscores their commitment to fostering a love for running in Astana, aiming to make the Astana Half Marathon increasingly popular and accessible to athletes worldwide.
