Capital Culture Discussion Invitation by Ex-Mayor Seifert

In an exciting development for the European Capital of Culture year 2025, MEP Thomas Geisel and former Mayor Peter Seifert are set to launch a new discussion format called the "Kulturhauptstadt-Talk" at Luxor Chemnitz.

The focus of this event is on Eastern German perspectives and municipal challenges, providing a platform for conversations related to the cultural year and the cultural significance of Chemnitz's designation.

MEP Thomas Geisel, aged 61 and a member of the SPD, announced this new initiative in collaboration with former Mayor Peter Seifert, aged 84. The goal, according to Geisel, is to "make Europe tangible - from an Eastern German perspective".

This discussion format is a premiere, marking a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in thought-provoking dialogues about the cultural landscape of Eastern Germany and the challenges faced by its municipalities.

Prominent surprise guests are expected to participate in the event, adding a touch of excitement to the proceedings. It is important to note that this event is not related to the flag controversy in Chemnitz, mosque construction in Chemnitz and Zwickau, or Küttes' rise to Chemnitz's deputy mayor.

The event will take place at Luxor Chemnitz, offering a fitting backdrop for this significant discussion. With Geisel and Seifter at the helm, the European Capital of Culture Talk promises to be an enlightening and engaging event.
