The House of Representatives is currently conducting hearings for the position of head of the Internal Control Organ (OIC) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR). The hearings are being led by the joint commissions of Transparency and Anti-corruption, and of Oversight of the Supreme Audit Institution of the Federation.

Among the candidates being interviewed is Oscar Daniel del Rio Serrano, the acting head of the OIC of the FGR. It's worth noting that Mr. del Rio Serrano is the son of Jose Manuel del Rio Virgen, director of Internal Control and Technical Evaluation of the Oversight Commission of the ASF.

Another candidate, Claudia Lorena Martinez Jimenez, was a former general commissioner of the Investigation Police of Aguascalientes. However, she was removed from her position in 2023 due to allegations of corruption.

Sergio Eduardo Amaro Cervantes, a criminal lawyer and political nephew of Raul Cervantes, former head of the PGR, entered the SEIDO due to family links with Cervantes in 2017, following accusations of nepotism. Despite this, it's unclear if he is a candidate for the OIC leadership of the FGR.

Esther Castellanos Polanco, director of Citizen Attention and Patrimonial Evolution in the OIC of the INEGI, has been accused of nepotism by her institute's workers, who claim she obtained her position through the recommendation of her brother, a former Morena deputy. Once again, her candidacy for the OIC leadership of the FGR is yet to be confirmed.

The Jucopo, or the Political Coordination Board, must propose one or more profiles to the full chamber by September 24. The chosen candidate must obtain two-thirds of the votes. The search results do not provide information about the candidates for the position of OIC leader of the FGR to be presented on September 22, nor about any candidate who has faced corruption allegations in the past.

The hearings come after the resignation of Arturo Serrano Meneses, the former head of the OIC, on August 8. He resigned to face investigations for allegedly receiving bribes. The outcome of these hearings will undoubtedly shape the future of the OIC of the FGR and the fight against corruption in Mexico.
