Canada’s Olympic Goaltending Trio Unveiled for Milano Cortina 2026

Team Canada has announced its three goalies for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Logan Thompson, Darcy Kuemper, and Jordan Binnington will represent the country in the upcoming tournament. The selections were finalised after careful consideration by coaching staff and management.

Logan Thompson, currently with the Washington Capitals, earned his spot after a strong season. He previously won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023. His experience and recent form made him a clear choice for the team.

Darcy Kuemper, playing for the Los Angeles Kings, brings his own championship pedigree. He secured the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022. His consistency and big-game experience were key factors in his selection. Jordan Binnington, despite a challenging season with a 7-9-6 record, a 3.44 goals-against average, and an .870 save percentage, still impressed selectors. His performance at the 4 Nations Face-Off and his 2019 Stanley Cup victory with the St. Louis Blues played a major role. Upon hearing the news, Binnington expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. Team Canada’s goaltending coach, David Alexander, had a significant influence on the final decisions. General manager Doug Armstrong later stated his confidence in the trio’s ability to compete for gold.

The three goalies will now prepare for the 2026 Olympics in Milano Cortina. Their combined experience includes multiple Stanley Cup wins and international competition. The team’s management believes this group gives Canada a strong chance at a Stanley Cup.
