'Call the Police, Please': Nepalese Woman Pleads as Mob Attacks Her, Suspecting Theft, in Bareilly - VIDEO (Re-worded)
A 22-year-old Nepali woman named Sushmita found herself the victim of a violent mob attack in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, after being falsely accused of theft.
According to reports, Sushmita had come to Bareilly to meet two friends and was standing on a terrace in the Baradari locality at around 1:30 am. However, locals who were patrolling the area due to recent theft concerns mistook her behaviour as suspicious.
The mob caught hold of Sushmita and assaulted her, leaving her with serious injuries including a fractured leg and two broken teeth. In the chaos, Sushmita panicked and jumped from the roof, further injuring herself.
Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident—Gaurav Saxena, Shivam Saxena, Aman Saxena, and Arun/Anil Saini—and a search is ongoing to find others involved.
Sushmita is currently receiving medical treatment and her condition is stable. Authorities have condemned the act and have committed to ensuring justice.
It is reported that Sushmita was working in Noida and had come to Bareilly for a visit. The case has been registered under relevant sections in Bareilly, and charges filed include rioting, voluntarily causing hurt, and wrongful confinement.
