Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident—Gaurav Saxena, Shivam Saxena, Aman Saxena, and Arun/Anil Saini—and a search is ongoing to find others involved.

Sushmita is currently receiving medical treatment and her condition is stable. Authorities have condemned the act and have committed to ensuring justice.

It is reported that Sushmita was working in Noida and had come to Bareilly for a visit. The case has been registered under relevant sections in Bareilly, and charges filed include rioting, voluntarily causing hurt, and wrongful confinement.
