Bystander intervenes during xenophobic verbal attacks on women

In the heart of Grünau, along Regattastraße, a disturbing incident unfolded around 4:40 PM. A young man, sitting on a park bench, witnessed a man and a woman shouting derogatory, racist comments at two passing women. The witness bravely intervened, causing the suspect to threaten him with violence.

The special team currently investigating the case is the "State Protection" unit of the State Criminal Police Office (Landeskriminalamt, LKA). The case is being handled by a specialized unit from the State Criminal Police Office's State Protection department.

The two individuals involved in the incident, a 55-year-old man and his 58-year-old companion, were checked by the police and agreed to a voluntary breathalyzer test. The test results were alarming, as both individuals blew over two times the legal limit. As a result, they were charged with driving under the influence.

The two women who were targeted in the racial harassment incident left the scene before the police arrived, appearing shaken. Unfortunately, they were not charged or identified in the article due to privacy concerns.

The racial harassment incident is being investigated separately from the DUI charges to ensure a thorough and fair investigation. The suspect in the racial harassment incident also threatened the witness with violence, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and respect in our communities. The police urge anyone who witnesses such incidents to report them immediately to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all citizens.
