BYD's Atto 1 Electric Vehicle Coming to Australia in November 2025
BYD's smallest and most popular electric vehicle, the Atto 1, is set to hit Australian shores. The compact model, originally launched as the BYD Seagull, has already sold over a million units worldwide and is expected to be a hit Down Under.
The Atto 1 will come in two variants: Essential and Premium. The Essential model packs a 30 kWh battery, offering a range of 220 km WLTP, while the Premium variant boasts a 42 kWh battery with a range of 310 km WLTP. Both models feature a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
BYD Australia's chief operating officer anticipates strong pre-order interest for the Atto 1. The vehicle is expected to be the lowest-priced electric vehicle on the Australian market, with an official price tag yet to be announced but confirmed to be below the base model BYD Dolphin ($29,990). The Atto 1 will launch in Australia in November 2025, accompanied by the Atto 2 SUV. The Atto 3 model series will be distributed by Sime Darby Motors Australia, with sales commencing in early 2025.
The BYD Atto 1's arrival in Australia promises to bring affordable electric mobility to the masses. With its competitive pricing, impressive range, and modern features, the Atto 1 is poised to make a significant impact on the Australian EV market.
