Hey there! Let's dive into the latest drama unfolding in the Bundesliga. The highly-touted youngster, Jamie Gittens, seems to be at the center of a fierce negotiation between FC Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund (BVB).

BVB has turned down a hefty offer from Chelsea, worth a whopping 55 million euros, for Gittens. "We had a chat, but we differed on the player's current value," BVB's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, revealed in a press roundup. Reports suggest that the English giants initially offered around £42 million, but the Germans stand firm, holding out for something more in line with £55 million.

Instead of joining Chelsea early, the 20-year-old will be representing BVB in the Club World Cup, which takes place in the USA from June 14 to July 13. "Jamie certainly strengthens our team. It's great he's with us," Kehl added.

Despite the rejection, Gittens' move to England isn't completely off the table yet. Rumors circulate that he's already agreed terms with Chelsea. After the Club World Cup, a transfer back to the English soil may still be on the cards.

"We're keeping the lines of communication open. We'll see how things develop," Kehl shared. It's worth mentioning that, just a day prior, BVB signed Jobe Bellingham for over 30 million euros. With more transfers on the horizon, BVB will need to generate transfer income to make these deals happen.

Kehl hinted that players, including Gittens, need to leave the club when they are signed. "Eventually, when you bring a player on board, you also have to let one go," he said. Perhaps Gittens, whose contract runs until 2028 and for whom BVB is reportedly demanding 65 million euros, could be the one to go. "I bet his market value won't decrease," Kehl asserted.

Negotiations between Chelsea and Dortmund are not over yet. With Chukwuemeka's loan deal with BVB ending on June 30, just smack dab in the middle of the Club World Cup, talks about his potential extension are underway. "We'll see if we can keep him until the end of the tournament. There'll be more discussion about that," Kehl announced.

So there you have it! Keep an eye on this fascinating transfer saga as it unfolds. Who knows, Gittens might yet end up in blue!
