BVB Secures Convincing 4-1 Champions League Win Against Bilbao
Borussia Dortmund (BVB) secured a convincing 4-1 victory against Athletic Bilbao in their first UEFA Champions League win of the season. The game, held in Dortmund, saw a rotated squad shine under coach Niko Kovac.
Daniel Svensson opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Despite Bilbao equalizing in the second half, BVB maintained control. Top scorer Serhou Guirassy returned and scored, while Niklas Süle played his first game since the Club World Cup. Carney Chukwuemeka and Julian Brandt also contributed to the goal tally. The team made it clear late with goals from Guirassy and Brandt, securing the win. Notably, BVB had not conceded a goal in a while before Bilbao's equalizer. Gorka Guruzeta scored for Bilbao in the 61st minute.
