BVB Experiences Training Camp Rain Struggles, Following Ronaldo's Footsteps
Borussia Dortmund, the German football powerhouse, has been in the heart of Austria for their pre-season training camp since August 4, 2025. However, a surprising turn of events occurred on that day when the club announced the cancellation of their public training session.
The official Instagram post from the club simply stated that the public training session was "unfortunately canceled," without providing a detailed explanation. Despite this, the team's training camp continued as scheduled, with closed sessions and no public-friendly events on August 4. Other activities, such as team training and media events, proceeded as normal.
The reason behind the cancellation remains unclear. It is speculated that the decision could be due to logistical, health, or operational reasons, but no explicit reason has been officially given.
The training camp will continue in Austria until Saturday, with the team preparing for the new Bundesliga season. The squad, consisting of 30 players, includes injured players Nico Schlotterbeck, Julien Duranville, and Emre Can. Striker Sébastien Haller, who is initially absent due to illness, is expected to join the team later in the week.
Transfer-willing players Giovanni Reyna and Cole Campbell are also part of the traveling group.
As the week progresses, the weather forecast predicts that the rain will ease up mid-week, hopefully improving the training conditions on Friday, when a public training session is planned. Coach Niko Kovac emphasised the importance of having all players present for team unity.
The anticipation for the new season is palpable as Dortmund continues their preparations in Austria. Fans eagerly await the team's return to the pitch and the resumption of public training sessions.
Top management at Borussia Dortmund decided to postpone the scheduled public training session due to uncertain factors, such as logistical, health, or operational reasons, as indicated in the club's official Instagram post.
With the forecast showing improving weather conditions mid-week, fans can hope for a better training environment during the planned public session on Friday, which the coach has placed great importance on for team unity.
