Crankin' It Up in Mönchengladbach: Niederrhein Cycling Experience Day Redux!

Mark your calendars, folks! On July 6th, it's pedals to the metal once again in the Lower Rhine region, as Mönchengladbach jumps back on its bike for the Second Niederrhein Cycling Experience Day. From 10 AM till 5 PM, cycling enthusiasts young and old can hop on and explore the city and surrounding area on a selection of exciting routes.

The main event goes down at Schloss Rheydt, where an action-packed activity center brings together partners like the ADFC Mönchengladbach e.V., the Marketing Gesellschaft Mönchengladbach (MGMG), the Radstation, and the police. These groups offer insights on all things cycling, from safety and services to leisure time tips.

For families, a kid-friendly 6.5-kilometer loop is a must, while seasoned cyclists can take their pick from six other routes ranging from 32 to 52 kilometers. For the athletically inclined who want to push the pace, two of these tours route directly to the VHS Mönchengladbach, where the Berggarten festival is happening. Both venues offer ample bike parking facilities.

To help you find your way, snag a postcard sketch of the routes, handy for clipping to your handlebars and using as a navigation aid. Drop by the info point at Schloss Rheydt, or swing by the ADFC, VHS, or city libraries ahead of time to grab one. Best of all, these routes utilize the Radknotennetz, so you'll have no trouble tracking your course.

Got what it takes to win big? Fear not, as there's an online prize draw up for grabs—with prizes like bicycles, hotel vouchers, and the new Niederrhein Guest Card! To enter, simply scan the QR code at the info points on your tour and solve at least two riddles correctly. To register for the online prize draw or get more details, head to https://www.niederrhein-tourismus.de/raderlebnistag-niederrhein or sign up on-site on July 6th by scanning QR codes with your smartphone at the info points.
