American rapper Trevor Smith, better known as Busta Rhymes, has added another accolade to his impressive career with the unveiling of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This milestone was celebrated on August 1, 2025, in Los Angeles, marking a significant moment in the artist's journey.

Born in New York to Jamaican immigrants, Busta Rhymes began his career in the 90s with hits like "I Know What You Want," "Break Ya Neck," and "Pass The Courvoisier Part II." His unique lyrical style and dynamic flow have earned him a place among the greats of hip-hop. Over his career, he has released eleven studio albums, including his latest Blockbusta (2023), and eight mixtapes, with total record sales of around 10 million.

The ceremony took place on Hollywood Boulevard, with notable figures such as LL Cool J, Chris Rock, and Chuck D speaking, and Big Boy hosting the event. This honour reflects Busta Rhymes' enduring influence and significant contributions to hip-hop culture, both as a pioneering artist and as a figure who has shaped the genre’s sound and visual style over 35 years.

Busta Rhymes' star is the 2,818th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The rapper, who is 53 years old, expressed his gratitude for this "once-in-a-lifetime moment," stating that it distinguishes itself from other awards like Grammys or MTV Awards.

In addition to the Walk of Fame honour, Busta Rhymes is also releasing a new album, Vengeance, expected in September 2025. This upcoming release promises a blend of his signature style with fresh, personal elements. Furthermore, he stars in the reboot of The Naked Gun, released on the same day as his Walk of Fame ceremony. In this film, Busta Rhymes acts alongside Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.

Busta Rhymes' father, an electrician, initially opposed his musical career. However, the rapper recalled having to work very hard during his childhood and thanked his mother, whom he called his "greatest superhero." He expressed his gratitude for her support, stating, "Without my mother, I wouldn't be here today."

Busta Rhymes' career achievements encompass groundbreaking solo work, prolific collaborations, acting roles, and now a Hollywood Walk of Fame star—cementing his legacy as an influential icon in hip-hop and entertainment at large. With over 20 million albums sold, Busta Rhymes continues to leave his mark on the music industry.

Entertainment and celebrities have celebrated Busta Rhymes' accomplishments with the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Known for his significant contributions to hip-hop culture and influence, the US rapper's distinctive career encompasses multiple genres, including music and film, earning him a place among household names in the entertainment industry.
