HITMAN'S MURKY MYSTERY IN MAGUINDANAO—Investigations continue in the gruesome slaying of businessman Dodo Makakena, 53, owner of the Jhalili Restaurant, and resident of Sitio Sumil, Barangay Labu-labu, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur Province, murdered around 5:30 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Single-handedly, two unidentified suspects ambushed Makakena, shooting him down with a .45 caliber pistol as he headed home to his family. On his way to Maguindanao Provincial Hospital, the suspects were last seen fleeing on a motorcycle without a license plate. Despite the attending physician's vigorous efforts, Makakena was declared dead on arrival, bearing three gunshot wounds to the chest.
