Business Leaders Should Embrace Sustainable Strategies, Lessen Foreign Product Imports: As per Piyush Goyal

New Delhi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal set the tone high at Sunday's Chemicals & Allied Products Export Promotion Council's (CAPEXIL) Vibrant Buildcon 2025, urging industry stakeholders to jump on the sustainability bandwagon. He emphasized the importance of slashing import dependencies, diving headfirst into eco-friendly construction, and building resilient, modular infrastructure. With a twinkle in his eye, he proclaimed, "India's embracing change, breaking norms, and redefining the future!"

India's muscle-flexing in the infrastructure sphere? Think global capability centers, domestic manufacturing under Make in India! Goyal underlined the crucial role of key sectors like housing, infrastructure, commercial real estate, railways, airports, highways, and energy. Each component, from cement and power to security systems and automation, contributes significantly to this vibrant ecosystem, the minister highlighted.

Government initiatives, such as building 20 smart industrial cities, upgrading tourism infrastructure across 50 locations, and establishing 100 industrial plug-and-play hubs, according to Goyal, will guide India from its current $4-trillion economy to a whopping $30-$35 trillion by 2047.

Connecting the dots between India's food security and infrastructure growth, Goyal pointed to Vibrant Buildcon as the embodiment of India's capability to spur rapid urbanization, provide homes for all, and revolutionize logistics. "This platform underscores our manufacturing and infrastructure prowess, a must-have to lure foreign investments and cut logistics costs," he added.

In essence, the government's infrastructure development strategy, as laid out by Goyal, focuses on a wide range of sectors, including transport, housing, and energy, while pushing for sustainability, import substitution, and innovation in modular construction techniques to beef up the sector's efficiency and green credentials [1][2][5].

India's infrastructure development, as outlined by Goyal, extends beyond just transportation, housing, and energy sectors. It also encourages a shift towards eco-friendly construction methods in the realm of sports facilities, aiming to establish India as a global hub for sustainable sports infrastructure. This comprehensive strategy aims to enhance the country's attractiveness to foreign investments and reduce logistics costs across various sectors.
