Business Encounter between MadeByMitchell and Malachi under Scrutiny; Entrepreneur Responds Amidst Viral Controversy
================================================================
In the world of beauty and makeup, a high-profile dispute between two prominent figures has been making waves. MalachiArt, a popular TikTok account, and MadeByMitchell, a rising brand in the industry, found themselves at odds over a collaboration that never came to fruition.
The saga began in 2023 when MalachiArt won MadeByMitchell's Full Face Of Colour Case competition. Malachi claims that Mitchell Halliday, the brand's founder, offered him a partnership that was "financially and socially life-changing." However, two years later, the collaboration remains unrealized.
Malachi alleges that despite initial meetings, he was eventually ghosted and his art book and personal notebook, containing concepts, shade names, a marketing plan, packaging ideas, and a personal art book with the details documented, were lost during one of the meetings. He claims he was sent contracts with terms different from what was outlined in the competition and struggled to get answers on why.
Mitchell Halliday admitted to overpromising and taking on too much, leading to the issues with the collaboration. He blamed the "overnight" explosion of the MadeByMitchell brand for the problems, stating that his "tiny team" were struggling to keep up with the demand.
In a TikTok video on 12 August 2025, Mitchell Halliday responded to Malachi's claims, branding Malachi "one of the most incredible makeup artists" on the planet. He apologized to Malachi for the experience and not being able to push the collaboration through as intended. Mitchell believes he and Malachi can "make magic" together and has drafted an agreement for Malachi to either accept or turn down.
However, Malachi cut off contact with MadeByMitchell on 9 July 2025, citing the issues with the collaboration and the loss of his art book as reasons. The dispute ended without the promised collaboration coming to fruition, and MadeByMitchell did not provide financial compensation despite MalachiArt’s claims of lost earnings and stolen intellectual property.
The controversy sparked considerable backlash within the beauty community, with opinions about the failed collaboration and disputes over intellectual property rights. MadeByMitchell's brand name reached out for further comment but did not respond by the time of publication.
As of the latest updates in August 2025, MalachiArt publicly demanded compensation for the failed cosmetics collaboration, stating he was promised a "life-changing" deal that never materialized and accused MadeByMitchell of taking his ideas and sketchbooks without payment or proper contract fulfillment. The dispute remains unresolved.
