Business B4 Shuts Down for Four Months Duration
In the heart of Nordhausen, a significant infrastructure project is underway, causing a ripple of changes across the city's transportation system. The project, which is estimated to cost around 1.14 million euros, involves road renovation, the construction of new pedestrian and cyclist crossings, and the modernisation of several key facilities.
The affected area is the B 4 in Parkallee, stretching from Beethovenring to Grenztriftweg at the Albert-Kuntz-Sportpark. For the duration of the construction work, which is scheduled to last until the end of November this year, traffic will be rerouted, and the section between the gas station and Beethovenring will be built under a half-sided closure.
The disruptions are not limited to road traffic. The city bus lines A, E, D, G, 23, 241, 25, and 27, as well as the independently operated school contract traffic, will experience delays and rerouting. On city bus line A, the stop at the Albert-Kuntz-School will be omitted, with alternatives at Karl-Liebknecht-Platz and Salzaer Bahnhof. Line E cannot serve the stop at the Alten Tor in the direction of Bahnhofsplatz, with Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße serving as an alternative.
On city bus line G, the stops at the Alten Tor and in the Harzstraße in Krimderode will be omitted. A replacement stop in the bus turning loop at the Hofberg is planned for the Harzstraße. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the stops at the Old Gate and Bathhouse will not be served on lines 25 and 27 from Südharz-Klinikum. In these instances, passengers are advised to use the alternatives at Krimderode School and Gerhart-Hauptmann Street.
The construction work also includes the redesign of the existing crossing at the Albert-Kuntz-Sportpark, making it barrier-free. Two new pedestrian and cyclist crossings will be built at the Zollhaus and Parkschloss. To ensure the safety of emergency services and pedestrians, appropriate detours will be signposted, allowing them to pass at all times.
Residents and business owners in the construction area will be informed directly about the project's progress and any changes to their daily routines. For the most up-to-date information on the project and its impact on public transportation, it is recommended to consult local Nordhausen municipal websites or transport authorities.
Despite the significant infrastructure project affecting the B 4 in Parkallee, sports enthusiasts can still access the Albert-Kuntz-Sportpark, as temporary detours have been arranged for road traffic. The sports park, however, may experience altered transportation options, such as changes in city bus stops, due to the renovation work along the road.
