Burglars Swipe Unreleased Beyoncé Tracks: Car Heist Yields Unheard Music

Break-in at Beyoncé's Choreographer's Vehicle: Unreleased Music, Tour Plans Stolen

In a shocking turn of events, Beyoncé's unreleased music, along with footage, concert plans, set lists, and personal items, were stolen from the rental car of her choreographer Christopher Grant in Atlanta on July 8, 2025. The theft involved two suitcases containing two MacBooks and five jump drives that held the unreleased music and other sensitive materials.

The incident occurred at a parking deck near Krog Street Market, and the car's back window was smashed. Police have identified a suspect vehicle, a 2025 red Hyundai Elantra, and secured an arrest warrant, but the suspect remains at large.

The targeted jump drives reportedly contained watermarked unreleased music, meaning that any leaked material could be traced, which may help mitigate damage from the theft. Police have used tracking software like "Find My" to attempt to locate the stolen Apple devices.

Other items stolen from the vehicle included clothes, designer sunglasses, laptops, a pair of headphones, and luxury accessories. Representatives for Beyoncé have not responded to requests for comment regarding the missing jump drives.

Beyoncé's unreleased music is a concern for the singer, as her recent albums have been 'surprise' releases. The theft occurred just before her four-night run at the Mercedes Benz stadium, adding urgency to the investigation.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the music industry. In a similar case, the Menendez Brothers had a record bag with USBs containing unreleased music stolen while they were DJing at Fabric. However, the status of the Menendez Brothers' stolen music remains unknown.

In another related incident, a custom-built Telecaster and mandolin from Heart's stage in Atlantic City were later recovered after being stolen earlier this summer.

The robbery of Beyoncé's vehicle took place during her Cowboy Carter tour in Atlanta. A spokesperson for Atlanta police confirmed the break-in, and the incident was first reported by Atlanta's Channel 2. As of late July 2025, no publicly reported updates on the suspect's arrest or recovery of the stolen materials have emerged.
