Over 120 million euros for new industrial area in Lützen - Burgenland's €124M industrial park aims to revitalize local economy

A major new industrial and commercial park is set to transform the Burgenland district. Located in Zorbau, near the A9 motorway, the 300-hectare site aims to attract businesses and strengthen the local economy. District Administrator Götz Ulrich has called the development a 'milestone' for the region's future.

The project, described as the district's flagship initiative, will be built in phases. Planners highlight its strong transport connections and access to green energy as key selling points for potential investors. So far, however, no companies have officially registered or committed to moving in.

Funding for the park totals around €124.4 million. The federal government is providing the largest share, €121.5 million, with additional contributions from local authorities. The site's location in Zorbau, part of the Lützen municipality, places it close to major road networks, increasing its appeal.

The industrial park represents a significant investment in the Burgenland district's economic growth. With federal and municipal backing, the project is designed to create new opportunities for businesses. Officials now await concrete interest from companies looking to establish operations there.
