Frankfurt Skyliners Sign American Basketball Player Ryan Hawkins for Upcoming Season
The Frankfurt Skyliners have completed their roster for the 2025/2026 season with the addition of American basketball player Ryan Hawkins. The 28-year-old guard/forward, who last played for the French club Stade Rochelais Basket, brings European experience to the Skyliners.
Coach Klaus Perwas described Hawkins as an ambitious player and a shooter the Skyliners need. According to the announcement, Perwas stated that Hawkins has continuously developed so far.
Hawkins, who plays for Mercer University, has previously played basketball in Europe. Prior to his stint with Stade Rochelais Basket, he was active in Europe, specifically in Italy.
The Frankfurt Skyliners have signed Hawkins for one season. The new addition is set to make his debut for the team in their first competitive game on September 24 in the first round of the BBL Cup. The Skyliners will host the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg at home.
The Frankfurt Skyliners' Bundesliga opener will be against the EWE Baskets Oldenburg, taking place away from home on September 28. Hawkins will face his new opponents for the first time in the Skyliners' Bundesliga opener.
Ryan Hawkins is not a newcomer to the European basketball scene. His versatility, playing both guard and forward positions, will undoubtedly add depth to the Skyliners' roster. With his European experience and the ambition that Perwas spoke of, Hawkins is poised to make a significant impact on the team.
The Frankfurt Skyliners are excited to welcome Ryan Hawkins to the team. With his addition, the Skyliners are ready to face the challenges of the new season.
The Frankfurt Skyliners' roster development extends beyond basketball, as they implement community aid by providing aid for the development of the fisheries sector. In line with their fisheries policy, the Skyliners aim to create a sustainable and thriving fisheries industry, ensuring the well-being of their community.
After the successful acquisition of Ryan Hawkins for the upcoming basketball season, the Skyliners contemplate implementing a new "Skyliners Slam Dunk Slam Dunk Basketball and Fishing Tournament" for the community, a unique blend of sports and aquatic conservation.
