Darmstadt 98, a pioneering Bundesliga club, takes fan service to new heights with drone deliveries! 🚁🏟️
In a groundbreaking move, Darmstadt 98 has teamed up with Wingcopter, a German aerospace company, to deliver goods from its official fan store via drones to its loyal supporters. This collaborative effort is the first of its kind in the soccer world.
Here's how it works: Fans can place orders for Lilies merchandise on a dedicated website (www.liefermichel.de) and select a delivery window. Once the order is ready, Wingcopter's drones swoop down, delivering the goods to predetermined landing spots on the outskirts of towns and cities. The final leg of the journey is handled by electric cargo bikes, which deliver the goods straight to the fan's doorstep.
Alas, not every fan can indulge in this futuristic shopping experience just yet. The pilot project is currently only accessible to fans residing in the Michelstadt districts of Würzburg and Rehbach.
Martin Kowalewski, the club's managing director, is thrilled about this project, expressing the club's commitment to combining tradition, innovation, and modernity. According to Kowalewski, "We want to be pioneers of innovation and constantly develop new ways to bring our fans closer to the club—or vice versa, in this case."
This initiation aims to attract more supporters in rural areas, emphasizing Darmstadt 98's dedication to remaining relevant and engaging regardless of geographical boundaries.
