Bunbury clarifies that Eva Amaral is not referenced as an "ingrate prostitute" and never stripped her of the opening act for Bob Dylan.

In the 1990s, Spanish musicians Eva Amaral and Enrique Bunbury collaborated on several occasions, including a performance together on the La 2 program "El séptimo de caballería," presented by Miguel Bosé. However, a controversy arose during the 2004 tour that brought Bob Dylan to Spain.

The rumor originated from a supposed anger attributed to Bunbury after Amaral was hired as the opening act for Dylan's 2004 tour. However, it was clarified that Amaral did not take Bunbury's spot, as they were the ones hired to open for Dylan, and Gay Mercader called Bunbury to replace them due to a problem with Juan's hand.

The rumor gained momentum in 2006 when Bunbury released a song, but he has consistently denied any connection between the song and Eva Amaral. In an extensive statement, he responded to the rumor, denying any connection and expressing regret for the damage caused to Amaral over the years.

Amaral, a duo consisting of Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre, has denounced years of insults from a sector of Bunbury's fans due to the rumor. The controversy reached a new height when Eva expressed frustration on social media over the rumor and a user's claim that the song was dedicated to her.

Bunbury admitted to being asked about the rumor in the press on several occasions and clarified that it was not the case. He also apologized for any distress caused to Amaral in his statement, offering his apologies and asking for "the respect that they have and deserve."

Adrián Masa de Vega, a student of the Double Degree in Journalism and Humanities at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and Esteban Ramírez, Culture Coordinator, supervised the elaboration of this text. Quique González, who accompanied Eva Amaral on stage during a concert in Zaragoza in 1999, along with Enrique Bunbury, to sing a song, was also part of this collaborative performance.

Despite the apology, the damage caused by the rumor may take time to heal. However, it is a step towards resolving the long-standing misunderstanding between the two artists.
