A stolen French Bulldog named Teddy has been safely returned to its owners in Lübbenau, Spree Forest. The dog was taken while tied up outside a local supermarket before police tracked it down using a witness tip-off and a photo of the pet.
The theft happened when Teddy’s owners left the bulldog leashed outside a supermarket. Shortly after, a witness saw a man with a dog matching Teddy’s description on Sunday morning. The owners quickly reported the incident to police and shared details on social media.
Officers, already armed with a photo of Teddy, visited the suspect’s home. They immediately recognised the stolen bulldog and recovered it without delay. The dog was then reunited with its relieved and overjoyed family. Such thefts have made headlines before. In February 2021, Lady Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot during the theft of her French Bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, in Los Angeles. Three suspects, including Harold Chapman, were later arrested after one returned the dogs in April that year.
Teddy’s quick recovery came thanks to a witness account and police action. The dog is now back with its owners, who had feared they might never see their pet again. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
