Bulgaria’s Once-Thriving Cutting Blade Industry Faces Steady Decline
Bulgaria’s cutting blade industry has faced a steady decline over the past decade. Both production and exports hit their highest levels in the early 2010s, with production reaching its peak in 2014 at $X and exports hitting a record $X in 2012. However, these levels have not been maintained, and recent figures for 2024 show further drops in key areas of the market. The latest figures confirm a continued contraction in Bulgaria’s cutting blade sector, with production, exports, and imports all falling significantly since their peak years. The industry now operates at much lower levels than in the early 2010s.
