Bulgaria: Television Receiver Market 2025
Bulgaria’s television receiver market saw a sharp decline in 2024, dropping by 48.5% to $118 million. This reversal ended five years of steady growth, following a peak of $229 million in 2023. Trade data also revealed contrasting trends in imports and exports during the same period.
The market’s downturn came after a record high in 2023. By 2024, both domestic sales and international trade shifted significantly. Imports of television receivers fell by X%, with only X units entering the country—marking the first decrease after three years of rising figures. Despite this drop, the value of imports grew to $X, driven by a higher average price per unit, which climbed by X% to $X.
China remained the dominant supplier, covering a X% share of Bulgaria’s television imports. On the export side, shipments declined for the fourth year in a row, with volumes falling by X% to X units. However, the value of these exports jumped to $X, supported by a X% increase in the average export price, reaching $X per unit. Romania stayed the primary destination for Bulgarian television exports, absorbing a X% share of the total. The country itself does not host major television manufacturers, relying instead on global brands like Samsung and Roku, which operate internationally but have no production facilities in Bulgaria.
The 2024 figures highlight a mixed picture for Bulgaria’s television market. While import and export values rose due to higher unit prices, overall volumes fell sharply. The decline in domestic market size and export quantities suggests a broader contraction in trade activity.
