Buffalo's 31-21 victory over dolphins thwarted their comeback attempt, as an interception ended their late rally

The Buffalo Bills have continued their dominance over the Miami Dolphins, securing a 31-21 victory in their latest encounter. With the win, the Bills have now won seven straight and 14 of the past 15 games against their AFC East rivals.

Josh Allen led the Bills' offensive charge, throwing three touchdown passes in the game. Allen finished the match 22 of 28 for 213 yards, demonstrating his accuracy and effectiveness in guiding the Bills to victory.

The Dolphins, who are currently struggling, were without their kicker Jason Sanders due to a hip injury. Sanders is not eligible to return until Week 5. In his absence, the team elevated kicker Riley Patterson from the practice squad to fill in.

The Dolphins' defensive woes were evident as cornerback Jason Marshall sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter and did not return. The injury came at a crucial time, as the Bills' Terrel Bernard intercepted Tua Tagovailoa with three minutes left in the game. The interception came with Miami trailing 28-21 and threatening to tie the game.

Matt Prater sealed the win for the Bills on their next possession, hitting a 48-yard field goal. James Cook, the Dolphins' running back, had a strong performance, rushing for 108 yards and a 2-yard touchdown.

The loss has raised questions about the job security of Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, as the team's worst start since 2019 has left them winless at 0-3. The Dolphins will look to turn their fortunes around when they host the AFC East rival New York Jets in a Monday night game on September 29.

Meanwhile, the Bills will continue their three-game homestand against the New Orleans Saints on September 28. Both teams will then travel to South Florida and Miami-Dade for their subsequent games.
