In a heartbreaking turn of events, the Pforzheim Bisons of 1. CfR Pforzheim faced off against the formidable Baden Rhinos in the semifinals of the Baden-Württhem League, and the dream of the Baden-Württhem League final came crashing down.
In the first match of the weekend, held away at the Eisarena am Baden Airpark, the Baden Rhinos struck first with a goal just one minutes in from Nico Kolb. Five minutes later, Kolb added a second to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Noel Johnson and Austin Cihak followed up with goals to give the Rhinos a 4-0 lead going into halftime.
The Bisons managed to pull two goals back in the third, but it was too little too late. Kolb notched another goal for the Rhinos, and Ville Keränen sealed the deal with 70 seconds remaining, finishing off the game with a 6-2 victory for the Baden Rhinos.

The Bisons struggled to break through the strong goaltending of Riku Törnqvist. Power plays for the Bisons gave them chances, but the Rhinos were able to capitalize when it mattered. Tanner Ferreira opened the scoring for the Rhinos, and Austin Cihak added another goal to give Hügelsheim a 2-0 lead.
The Bisons pressed hard throughout the game, but penalties and poor execution prevented them from mounting a serious comeback. Jyry Kortelainen made it 4-1 for the Rhinos, and Nico Kolb added another goal to finish off the game with a 5-1 win for the Rhinos. Although both teams had chances to score again, no further goals were scored.
