Buffalo Bills sign veteran safety Geno Stone to a one-year deal

The Buffalo Bills have added experience to their defence by signing safety Geno Stone on Monday. The deal is a one-year contract, bringing the six-year NFL veteran to the team after his recent stint with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Stone began his career in 2020 when the Baltimore Ravens selected him in the seventh round of the draft. He spent four seasons with the Ravens, recording a career-high seven interceptions in his final year. His time in Baltimore included 78 tackles and seven picks across 29 games between 2022 and 2023.

After leaving the Ravens, he joined the Bengals as a free agent. Over two seasons in Cincinnati, he started every game, amassing 78 tackles, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 2024 alone. The following year, he added 65 tackles, three interceptions, and a sack. While his interception rate dipped slightly, his overall production per game improved.

In total, Stone made six interceptions during his 34 games with the Bengals, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Now, after fulfilling his two-year contract, he enters Buffalo as a proven starter with a track record of playmaking.

The Bills gain a reliable defender with starting experience and a knack for turnovers. Stone's versatility and ball-hawking skills will likely bolster their secondary. His one-year deal gives both sides flexibility as he looks to build on his previous performances.
