Buddy Hield delivers impressive performance for Golden State Warriors in their initial contest.

Buddy Hield let loose in Game 7 of the 2025 playoffs, tying the NBA playoff record for most three-pointers made with a brilliant 9-11 performance from beyond the arc. His 33 points were the cherry on top of a dominating 103-89 win over the Houston Rockets.

The Warriors were in a dogfight before the second half, but once Hield found his groove, it was game over for the Rockets. His first half was scorching hot, with 22 points, six three-pointers, and the team up by 12 at the break.

"Buddy getting hot completely changed the game in the first half," coach Steve Kerr said.

The Warriors' defensive leaders, Draymond Green and Steph Curry, were full of praise for Hield's game-winning display. Green hailed him as the "real MVP" of the game, while Curry dubbed him a "shooter with confidence" who knows basketball means more than anything.

Hield's performance was even more impressive considering his rough start to the series. He was held scoreless in Game 6 and only managed four points in Game 5. His best game so far came off the bench in Game 3, when he scored 17 points, convincing Kerr to promote him to the starting lineup for Game 4.

"I'm so glad I'm starting tonight," Hield said on the bench before the game. "Playing in Game 7 and getting prepared for it is one of the hardest things ever."

After the win, Hield admitted that he couldn't have imagined a better way to end his first playoff series in just his second year in the NBA. For a player with his easy-going personality, Game 7 was more than just a game - it was the fulfillment of a childhood dream.

With this performance under his belt, it's clear that Buddy Hield is a player to watch in the coming seasons. After all, if there's such a thing as Game 6 Klay, could there be Game 7 Buddy?
