In the world of German football, two intriguing transfer stories are unfolding. VfB Stuttgart finds itself in a delicate position as the future of Nick Woltemade hangs in the balance, with interest from FC Bayern Munich and other top clubs. Meanwhile, the Swabian outfit is actively pursuing a permanent transfer for Fabio Vieira from Arsenal.

Fabio Vieira, a 25-year-old midfielder, offers a great deal of potential. Having joined Arsenal from FC Porto in 2022 for an initial fee around €35-40 million, Vieira has struggled to secure a starting role behind Martin Ødegaard. After limited appearances in two seasons, he spent the 2024–25 season on loan back at Porto.

Stuttgart's interest in Vieira is undeniable, as they see potential value despite Arsenal's higher valuation and Vieira still having two years left on his contract. The talks, however, have yet to reach an agreement, with Arsenal seeking a price closer to their original investment. Stuttgart, on the other hand, seems cautious on a high fee but wants to strengthen their midfield with Vieira.

The valuation gap between the two parties is significant, with Arsenal demanding up to €30 million (£26.1 million), whereas Stuttgart is reportedly unwilling to exceed €20 million (£17.4 million), leaving about a €10 million difference to bridge in negotiations.

As for Enzo Millot, his departure from VfB Stuttgart leaves a void in the offense. Stuttgart can negotiate for Vieira without significant pressure due to other potential alternatives. Guido Buchwald, a VfB Stuttgart legend, believes Fabio Vieira could achieve a lot at Stuttgart.

It's important to note that Vieira brings international experience with him, having played for big clubs and in top leagues. There is no suggestion that Vieira is being considered as a direct replacement for Nick Woltemade in the short term, as the two players are different in their styles.

As the transfer window progresses, the outcome of these negotiations will significantly impact both clubs. Arsenal's midfield reinforcements and Stuttgart's squad depth for the season are at stake, making these talks a crucial part of the teams' strategies.

Fabio Vieira's potential transfer to VfB Stuttgart, a German club known for its interest in European leagues and football, could significantly strengthen their midfield, as he offers a great deal of potential despite a valuation gap between the two parties. Arsenal, on the other hand, sees him as a valuable asset, with his departure allowing Stuttgart to negotiate for him without significant pressure due to other potential alternatives.
