BTS shatters Spotify records with Arirang's historic 110M first-day streams

BTS has broken records with their latest album, Arirang, released on March 20, 2026. The group achieved the highest first-day streams for a K-pop album on Spotify, reaching 110 million plays. This also marks the 12th-best opening day for any album on the platform.

Arirang dominated the Spotify Global Chart from its first day. Eighteen of the album's tracks secured spots in the Top 50, with 12 entering directly. Five of those landed in the Top 10, while additional streams from solo and group variations pushed the total even higher.

The album's debut numbers suggest it could become the biggest release of 2026 by the end of the month. Currently, Taylor Swift's *The Tortured Poets Department* holds the all-time record for a first-day Spotify opening, with 314 million streams.

BTS' Arirang has set a new benchmark for K-pop on Spotify. Its strong first-day performance places it among the platform's most successful album launches. The group's influence on global streaming charts remains undeniable.
