BTS shatters records with Arirang album and historic chart debuts
BTS has broken multiple records with their fifth studio album, Arirang, released on March 20, 2026. The group achieved their seventh No. 1 debut on the U.S. Billboard 200, while also topping charts in three countries within its first week. Fans rushed to buy physical copies, pushing sales to levels not seen in years.
Arirang dominated its opening week with 641,000 equivalent album units—the highest for any group since 2014. Physical sales led the charge, with 516,000 copies sold, including a record 208,000 vinyl albums. This made it the biggest sales week for a group album in over a decade.
The album hit No. 1 in three countries, including Germany for the first time. It also topped the British Official Albums Chart and the U.S. Billboard 200. Meanwhile, the lead single *Swim* debuted at No. 2 on the UK's Official Singles Chart. BTS will soon take the album on the road, with their *Arirang* world tour kicking off in April 2026.
The success of Arirang marks another milestone for BTS, with record-breaking sales and chart-topping performances. Their upcoming world tour will bring the new music to fans globally, following the album's strong commercial debut.
