BTS Returns with New Album and Global Tour Confirmation
Pop sensation BTS has announced their highly anticipated return in 2026, with a new album and a world tour that is set to captivate fans worldwide. The group's first full-group appearance since their 2022 hiatus took place in a July 1 Weverse livestream, attracting a massive viewership that underscored BTS's enduring global influence.
The new album, slated for release in spring 2026, will mark the group's first full studio project since 2020's Be. Recording sessions for the U.S.-based album are scheduled to begin in July 2025. The members have emphasised that the album will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas, approaching the project with the same mindset as when they first started as a group.
Following the album release, BTS plans to embark on a world tour in 2026 that is expected to last between 6 to 9 months and could extend into spring 2027. The tour will cover multiple regions including Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania, performing in large-scale stadiums and arenas with capacities ranging from 50,000 to over 70,000 attendees.
The tour will feature interactive stage designs, augmented reality experiences, and multilingual subtitle glasses to enhance fan engagement. The setlist will include classic hits such as “Dynamite,” “Boy With Luv,” and “Butter,” alongside solo performances from individual members’ projects. Fan engagement activities like meet-and-greets, photo zones, special merchandise, and interactive events are also planned.
The exact dates and city venues for the 2026 world tour have not yet been fully released, but given that all members will complete their military service by June 2025, the tour preparations are well underway. Fans should watch BTS's official channels for forthcoming ticketing and tour announcements.
In addition to the new album and world tour, BTS will also release their first-ever live album, Permission to Dance on Stage - Live, on July 18, 2025, featuring 22 songs from concerts in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
The comeback of BTS, after all members complete their military service, signifies a major milestone for both the group and their global fanbase ARMY. The anticipation for new music and the world tour has been palpable on social media, with ARMY expressing relief and excitement for the group's return. With BTS's return, it's clear that the group is ready to continue making music and performing for their adoring fans worldwide.
The new album, anticipated in spring 2026, will full-heartedly include music from BTS, marking their first full studio project since 2020's Be. BTS's world tour, spanning multiple regions in 2026-2027, will present a mix of the band's classic hits and solo performances, promising an entertainment experience enhanced by interactive stage designs, AR, and multilingual subtitles.
