BSV Dinslaken's New Monarch Expresses Incomparable Emotions
Fresh Take: New Reign at Dinslaken's Citizens' Shooting Club
After a two-year hiatus, the rulers of the Citizens' Shooting Club (BSV) Dinslaken 1461 have been crowned anew. The new royal couple, Florian Lohofer and Ilka Bangel, are set to guide the club for the upcoming term. Lohofer, a familiar face in the shooting community, has reclaimed his throne for the second time, while Bangel steps into the queen's role for the first time.
The newly crowned king, Florian Lohofer, fondly recalls his first reign in 2015, when he became the youngest monarch of the Dinslaken shooters in his debut year of membership. This 42-year-old carpenter shared his excitement at returning to the throne. For Ilka Bangel, 34, this is her inaugural reign as the queen. She served as a minister in the past two years under the reign of Patrick Müller and Sarah Rieken. Bangel confesses her joy at being chosen by her partner.
The king's shooting, held on Sunday, saw a total of 409 shots fired at the wooden bird. Florian Lohofer secured the coveted crown after just 91 shots. The outgoing royal couple, Patrick Müller and Sarah Rieken, bid farewell to their subjects at the solemn handover ceremony. The new queen, Ilka Bangel, received her crown from Sarah Rieken as the new minister couples were introduced.
Around 50 members of the BSV Dinslaken participated in the king's shooting, with six candidates vying for the king's title. Both Florian and Ilka hold positions on the BSV Dinslaken's board, with Ilka being the second treasurer, and Lohofer serving as the second managing director. Unlike Ilka, who actively participates in sports shooting, Florian is a traditional shooter and only occasionally takes aim at the spring, shooting, and autumn festivals.
Meanwhile, a new prince's couple was also chosen during a separate competition. The 14-year-old Mattia Attardo secured the prince's title and will represent the club alongside the new king's couple until the next royal event. Mattia has been a member of the BSV Dinslaken for ten years, having recently received his certification the day before the competition.
Despite competing against his princess, Mia Kirchner, Mattia and Mia demonstrated a strong camaraderie throughout the event. As members of the throne, they understand that this experience may provide valuable insights into their future roles in the club. The special day ended with a twilight party, allowing club members to congratulate the new royal couples on their new stations.
