Bruno Fernandestransfer speculation: Man United manager Amorim discusses potential sale in Hong Kong interview

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dismissed rumours surrounding Bruno Fernandes' potential exit from the club this summer. Speculation has been rife about the Portuguese midfielder potentially joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, with reports suggesting a £100 million bid could be imminent.

Photographs of Fernandes' agent being spotted in Riyadh have further fueled the speculation, but Amorim is confident that the United captain will remain at Old Trafford.

"I don't believe so," Amorim said after his team's 3-1 win over Hong Kong. "I think he wants to stay. He's turning down a lot of offers, but he wants to win. He needs to be in the best league in the world."

Manchester United's financial situation has been under pressure due to their failure to secure a place in European competitions. This has spurred suggestions that the club might not be able to turn down a mega-money offer for Fernandes. However, the club is determined to hold on to the 30-year-old.

In response to this potential vacancy, Manchester United has reportedly shown interest in Sporting CP's Pedro Goncalves as a potential replacement. Goncalves is said to be stalling on contract negotiations with Sporting, believed to be enticed by United's interest.

The developments remain fluid, with Fernandes yet to make a decision, and the summer transfer window set to open soon.

Fernandes' potential transfer to Al-Hilal, with reported bids surpassing £100 million, could become a significant deal in European football, given Manchester United's financial struggles. However, Sporting CP's Pedro Goncalves has emerged as a potential replacement for Fernandes at Old Trafford, as speculation surrounding his contract negotiations with his current club continues.
