Bruins return to NHL action after Olympic break with no medals in hand

The Boston Bruins have returned to action after the Olympic break. Five of their players took part in the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina, though none secured medals for their performances. The team now prepares for their first match since early February.

The Bruins' last game before the pause was on February 4 against the Florida Panthers. Their comeback begins on Thursday, when they face the Columbus Blue Jackets at TD Garden.

Five Bruins skaters represented their countries at the Olympics. David Pastrnak played for Team Czechia, contributing five points—two goals and three assists. Henri Jokiharju and Joonas Korpisalo both won bronze with Team Finland.

Hampus Lindholm and Elias Lindholm also competed, though no medal results were recorded for them. Meanwhile, Charlie McAvoy and Jeremy Swayman, who helped Team USA win gold, did not attend the Bruins' first post-Olympic practice.

The team now shifts focus to their upcoming schedule. Their return to the ice starts with a home game against Columbus, marking the end of a three-week break.

The Bruins resume play without any Olympic medalists from their roster this year. Their first challenge comes against the Blue Jackets on Thursday. The game will test how quickly the returning players readjust to NHL competition.
