A/W 2025 Fashion Trends: Raw Glamour and Sensual Sobriety

The fashion world is abuzz with the latest trends for A/W 2025, as showcased in Wallpaper magazine's September Style Issue. This season, designers are redefining glamour by balancing luxury with rawness, femininity with edge, and classic opulence with modern twists.

In the realm of womenswear, Miu Miu and Fendi are leading the charge with their exploration of glamorous archetypes. Miu Miu's collections feature 'bullet' bras, a nod to the 1950s, while Fendi's offerings include meticulously dyed shearlings that mimic luxurious animal furs like fox, mink, and sable.

The womenswear cover of the September Style Issue, styled by Jason Hughes and photographed by Nicole Maria Winkler, showcases a Balenciaga coat priced on request and a Fendi coat costing £26,000. Acne Studios boots are also featured, priced on request.

In the menswear sphere, designers are moving away from sobriety to embrace a dangerous sensual mood. Tailoring becomes sculptural, with an emphasis on sculpted waistlines and a refined yet edgy formalwear reinterpretation. Dior Men’s and Wooyoungmi's collections exemplify this trend, featuring tuxedo riffs and floral 3D appliqués that add an element of tactile opulence and intrigue.

The menswear cover of the magazine showcases a jacket from Numeroventuno by Alessandro Dell'Acqua, priced at £2,100, and Celine jeans, also priced on request.

Other themes highlighted in the A/W 2025 collections include a shift away from stuffy sobriety towards glamour infused with a strong sense of mood, sensuality, and edge. Fendi celebrated its centenary with a co-ed runway that blended heritage with contemporary luxury, under the sole creative leadership of Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Craftsmanship and animalistic textures are also prominent, evoking animal instinct and tactile luxury. Nicolas Di Felice is breathing new life into Courrèges with a sleek, modernist vision influenced by art, architecture, and raves.

The September 2025 issue of Wallpaper magazine is available in print on newsstands from 7 August 2025. The issue features interviews, fashion editorials, and insights from fashion luminaries such as Jack Moss, who unpacked the trends of the season, and Hannah Silver, who spoke to Jonathan Anderson about his new vision for JW Anderson.

Sofia de la Cruz chats with Harry Nuriev, a designer beloved by the fashion industry, about his new east London restaurant, Noisy Oyster. Simon Chilvers delivers a paean to brown, fashion's most underrated hue. Jack Moss also traveled to Rome to meet Silvia Venturini Fendi, who has taken sole creative control at Fendi following the exit of Kim Jones.

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons' womenswear collection at Prada was themed around 'Raw Glamour', a blend of luxurious, sensual, and slightly subverted takes on traditional glamour. This season, glamour is redefined, and Wallpaper magazine captures it beautifully in their September Style Issue.

In the realm of A/W 2025 fashion, Miu Miu's collection, featuring 'bullet' bras and raw textures, embodies the trend of raw glamour. Meanwhile, in the fashion-and-beauty section, Wallpaper magazine spotlights the sensual and edgy approach in Dior Men’s and Wooyoungmi's menswear collections.
