Brother of Billie Eilish Reports Incident of Assault - Brother of Billie Eilish files a report of an alleged assault

The heated situation in Los Angeles due to the ongoing protests against US immigration policy and the actions of ICE has taken a turn for the worse, with reports indicating that US President Donald Trump (78) is deploying not only the National Guard but also the Marine Corps to the city, escalating the matter even further[3].

"Gassed at a Peaceful Protest"

Some accounts depict the protests as primarily peaceful, while others, such as the news outlet Fox News, portray the scene as "lawless chaos," as reported by the "Los Angeles Times"[4]. Celebrities have started to voice their opinions, with Finneas (27), the well-known singer-songwriter and older brother of the megastar Billie Eilish (23), being among them. According to reports from "The Hollywood Reporter," he claimed to have been attacked with tear gas during a peaceful protest in downtown Los Angeles[5].

Additionally, he mentioned that the other side was "inciting" and had posted a "F*ck ICE" on social media[5]. Unfortunately, the Instagram story is no longer accessible to the public.

Celebrities Demand Action and Change

Meanwhile, rapper Doechii (26), who won the Best Hip-Hop Artist award at the BET Awards, addressed the military suppression of the demonstrations in her acceptance speech. She called for an end to the army's intervention, stating: "There are reckless attacks that spread fear and chaos in our communities - all in the name of law and order. Trump is using military force to suppress a protest. Think about what kind of government that is, where every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What kind of government is that?"[6]

Actor Mark Ruffalo (57), known for his portrayal of the Hulk, took to Instagram to passionately denounce the current political climate. "President is a con artist," he wrote in a lengthy post. "While the super-rich grow richer, many turn against the poor. They're pointing their guns in the wrong direction." He also explained, "When people from the working class turn on the poor and other working-class people, you know you're living in an oligarchy." Many of his famous peers including Halle Berry, Melanie Griffith, Marisa Tomei, or Pedro Pascal expressed agreement with his sentiments[7].
