According to reports from "The Hollywood Reporter," he claimed to have been attacked with tear gas during a peaceful protest in downtown Los Angeles[5].

Celebrities Demand Action and Change
Meanwhile, rapper Doechii (26), who won the Best Hip-Hop Artist award at the BET Awards, addressed the military suppression of the demonstrations in her acceptance speech. She called for an end to the army's intervention, stating: "There are reckless attacks that spread fear and chaos in our communities - all in the name of law and order. "While the super-rich grow richer, many turn against the poor. They're pointing their guns in the wrong direction." He also explained, "When people from the working class turn on the poor and other working-class people, you know you're living in an oligarchy." Many of his famous peers including Halle Berry, Melanie Griffith, Marisa Tomei, or Pedro Pascal expressed agreement with his sentiments[7].
