Brooklyn Nets lose Cam Thomas for weeks due to hamstring injury

The Brooklyn Nets face a setback with their leading scorer, Cam Thomas, out for three to four weeks due to a left hamstring strain. Thomas sustained the injury during the Nets' game against Indiana on Wednesday, leaving the team to find a replacement.

Thomas, who is averaging 21.4 points per game, will be reevaluated in three or four weeks. This is not the first time the Nets' guard has dealt with this injury; he strained the same hamstring on three occasions last season, limiting him to just 25 games. Coach Jordi Fernández emphasized the need for the team to play hard, with purpose, and be selfless and connected in Thomas' absence.

In Thomas' place, rookie Egor Denim, the eighth overall pick in June's NBA draft, started the next game. Meanwhile, Nets guards Ziaire Williams and Noah Clowney are receiving additional playing minutes. Thomas, who is shooting 40.2% from the field and 35.6% from long distance this season, will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Cam Thomas' injury is a significant blow to the Nets, who will have to rely on their depth to fill the void left by their leading scorer. With Thomas out for an extended period, the team will need to step up and adapt to maintain their competitiveness.
