Brooklyn Nets' dismal season ends with 11th loss in 12 games
The Brooklyn Nets suffered another heavy defeat on Tuesday, falling 117–86 to the Charlotte Hornets at Barclays Center. This loss marked their 11th in the last 12 games, leaving them stuck in 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
The final game of the NBA regular season took place on April 1 in New York. The Hornets dominated from the start, securing a convincing road win. Brandon Miller led the scoring for Charlotte with 25 points, while Josh Minott added 14 for the Nets.
With this victory, the Hornets climbed to 9th in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Brooklyn's struggles continued, extending their poor run of form. One bright spot for the Nets this season has been Yegor Demin's improvement. Drafted 8th overall in 2024, the young forward has gone from averaging 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists as a rookie to 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 2025-26. His progress has made him a key starter for the team.
The Hornets' win solidified their position in the playoff race, while the Nets finished the season on a low note. Brooklyn will now look ahead to the off-season after a difficult campaign.
