Brody Lamb signs two-year deal with Rangers after standout college career
The New York Rangers have secured forward Brody Lamb on a two-year, entry-level deal. The 22-year-old was originally drafted by the club in 2021 and has since built a strong record in college and junior hockey.
Lamb was picked 104th overall in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning pro, he spent time with the University of Minnesota, where he served as captain. This past season, he scored 14 goals and added 16 assists in 35 games, finishing second in goals and third in assists among Gophers skaters.
His standout performances earned him three Big Ten Conference Second Star of the Week honours. He also led Minnesota with eight power play goals in 2023-24. Over four college seasons, Lamb totalled 91 points—47 goals and 44 assists—in 152 games. Before joining Minnesota, he played for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. During the 2021-22 campaign, he recorded 41 points in 62 games. His transition to professional hockey began with the Rangers this season, where he has already shown progress. In his first NHL season (2025-26), Lamb has improved on his college stats. He has 18 goals and 22 assists in 68 games, compared to 12 goals and 15 assists in 38 college games the year before. His points-per-game rate has risen from 0.71 to 0.59, alongside stronger power-play contributions.
Lamb's two-year contract marks his official shift to the Rangers' roster. His development from junior hockey to college and now the NHL highlights his scoring ability and leadership. The team will look to his offensive production as he continues to adapt to professional play.
