Rebel Wrestler Brody King Slams Trump's Immigration Policies

Professional wrestling veteran Brody King cranked up the heat on President Donald Trump during his performance in Mexico City for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), taking a bold stand against the Commander-in-Chief's hardline immigration policies.

Appearing before a crowd of over 12,000 spectators in Mexico, King donned a shirt emblazoned with the phrase 'Abolish ICE', a staunch protest against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. The scene was captured live by cameras as the show aired on TBS in the United States – a defiant display that could hardly be ignored.

A native of the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys, King's protest was a vocal show of support for the local protestors rallying against the Trump administration's aggressive deportation tactics. The demonstrations have swept through the region for nearly two weeks, with tensions escalating as the president brought in the National Guard and armed forces without the consent of Governor Gavin Newsom.

The 6-foot-6 heavyweight grappler's actions against Trump come amidst a frosty relationship between the two, spanning back to Trump's time in the White House. King is not the only Los Angeles-based athlete to take a public stand on the issue, with Dodgers star Enrique 'Kike' Hernandez voicing his sentiments in a heartfelt Instagram post over the weekend.

"I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own," Hernandez wrote. "I am saddened and infuriated by what's happening in our country and our city. Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me and shown me nothing but kindness and love."

"This is my second home," he continued. "And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights. #CityOfImmigrants."

Trump's immigration policies have seen masked federal agents arresting and deporting individuals without due process, sparking outrage and protests across the nation. The Dodgers, who had recently visited Trump at the White House as World Series champions, have yet to comment on the controversial scenes.

Other figures in the sports world have divided opinions on the issue, with Auburn head men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl lauding Trump for "making America safe again." However, King insists that being undocumented is a civil offense, not a criminal one, and is deeply critical of the methods employed, labelling the armed raids as Gestapo-like tactics[1][4].

In the wake of his passionate stand, King continued his winning streak by securing victory in AEW's Grand Slam Mexico 14-man tag team match. The 285-pound powerhouse clinched 2022's Royal Rampage and is a former AEW World Trios Champion, alongside Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black[1].
