Broadridge's ProxyVote upgrade lets investors vote faster with real-time updates

Broadridge Financial Solutions has enhanced its ProxyVote platform with a new feature called 'breaking news', making it easier for millions of individual investors to participate in shareholder voting. The 'news today' feature allows investors to choose their voting preferences directly after submitting their proxy ballots, simplifying the process and removing extra steps. The enhanced system integrates 'news' into the existing proxy workflow, benefiting investors in over 600 funds representing more than $8 trillion in assets. Broadridge designed the feature to reduce friction and encourage broader engagement. Vanguard will be the first asset manager to adopt the new capability through its Vanguard Investor Choice programme, with BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street expected to follow by the end of 2024. The upgrade supports the wider industry by making 'breaking news' programmes easier to launch and scale, giving tens of millions of investors direct control over their voting preferences.
