Broadens the selection of FAST channels on Zattoo to include comedy shows, western movies, and iconic programs from the 1980s.
Amazon is set to blur the boundaries between traditional TV and streaming with the launch of its linear TV channel Prime, a collaboration between Amazon and Wurl. The new channel went live on 17th April, exclusively for Prime Video members in Germany and Austria.
The Prime channel offers a 24/7 stream of highlights, providing viewers with a fresh and engaging way to consume content. It joins Zattoo's growing portfolio of FAST Channels, which have seen significant growth, according to Zattoo's Head of Consumer Business, Constanze Gilles.
Zattoo has added three new FAST Channels to its lineup: Pastewka, Bronco, and Auf Achse. On Pastewka, viewers can watch a fictionalized version of Pastewkna navigating relationship struggles, family disputes, and neighbourly conflicts, as portrayed by Bastian Pastewka in the award-winning comedy series.
Auf Achse revives a cult series from the 1980s, featuring trucker Franz Meersdonk, played by Manfred Krug. Viewers can revisit all five seasons of the series on the new channel.
Bronco caters to western enthusiasts with a wide-ranging collection of films, including Companeros (1970), Seine Kugeln pfeifen das Todeslied (1969), Big Kill - Stadt ohne Gnade (2019), and Der Kampf der Brüher (1981).
In addition, TV streaming provider Zattoo has added another FAST Channel, Ladykracher, to its portfolio in Germany. Ladykracher is powered by MySpass and is operated by Banijay Media Germany.
The three new channels expand Zattoo's FAST Channel portfolio and provide viewers with more outstanding content from popular genres. The growth of these channels demonstrates customer enthusiasm for this offering, according to Gilles.
The launch of Prime is not the only exciting development in the streaming world. Zattoo has also added Ladykracher to its portfolio, bringing the total number of FAST Channels to over 60.
The Prime channel is just one more way Amazon is innovating in the TV and streaming industry. With its launch on 17th April, it's an exciting time for Prime Video members in Germany and Austria.
