In a move that has reignited the debate about diversity of opinions in German broadcasting, the North German Broadcasting (NDR) has parted ways with journalist and moderator Julia Ruhs. Ruhs, known for her conservative views and polarizing opinions, was the face of the co-production "Klar" from NDR and Bavarian Broadcasting (BR).

The internal editorial board of NDR apparently avoided taking a clear position, leading to a "months-long internal struggle" following the first episode of "Klar". This episode, which addressed the topic of migration and foreign crime, was met with both praise from right-leaning media and criticism from left-leaning commentators like ZDF moderator Jan Boehmermann, who described it as "right-wing populist nonsense".

Despite the controversy, Thomas Hinrichs, program director of BR, expressed satisfaction with the media research results of 'Klar'. In a statement, he said, "We are pleased with the success of the show and look forward to continuing it with Julia Ruhs."

Julia Ruhs, who has a column on 'Focus.de' where she regularly criticizes "woke nonsense", "queer nonsense", and the Greens, called her dismissal from 'KLAR' a "failure". She may have more time for her column in the future due to her dismissal from 'KLAR'.

Ruhs' dismissal may confirm the prejudices of some viewers about the diversity of opinions in the show. Critics have accused Ruhs of reporting in a one-sided manner, and protests by NDR staff were reported shortly after the first episode aired.

Despite the controversy, the show "Klar" aims to provide answers to the big questions of our time. In the future, Ruhs will only appear in episodes produced by BR, and it seems the series will continue with her at the helm. The debate about whether ARD and ZDF adequately represent the diversity of opinions in Germany, however, is likely to continue.
