British resident, Saudi national meets tragic end due to knife attack in UK territory

In a tragic turn of events, a 20-year-old Saudi student named Mohammed Al-Qasim was stabbed to death in Cambridge, UK, on Friday, 1st August, 2025. The incident unfolded in a park south of Cambridge, where Al-Qasim was fatally stabbed in the neck.

The British police have arrested two men in connection with the incident. Chas Corrigan, a 21-year-old man from Cambridge, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in a public place. He is the main suspect accused of carrying out the unprovoked attack on Al-Qasim.

A second man, aged 50 and also from Cambridge, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.

Authorities have indicated that a third suspect remains at large, but no further details about this individual have been made public.

The stabbing occurred near Mill Park, Cambridge, late on the fateful day. Despite emergency efforts, Al-Qasim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, approximately half an hour after the incident.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime is ongoing, with the main suspect, Chas Corrigan, expected to appear at Cambridge Crown Court. The police are working diligently to uncover more details and bring those involved to justice.
