British graduates of Goffs Orby race, awarded €500,000 as additional prize money in 2021.
Goffs Two Million Series Ignites Excitement Among Owners and Trainers
The Goffs Two Million Series, a groundbreaking initiative offering a total prize fund of €2 million, has set the racing world ablaze in 2025. The series, which includes the €1 million Goffs Million, Europe's richest two-year-old race, and €1 million in €50,000 bonuses awarded across designated two-year-old races in Ireland and the UK, has generated significant incentive for buyers and trainers aiming for juvenile success.
Mark Richards, Goffs British agent, has noted that the €50,000 bonuses have "lit a fire under owners and trainers." The bonuses, which have already been claimed in ten British races, provide an additional €1 million in winnings for owners of Orby graduates this season.
All yearlings sold in both Goffs Orby Book 1 and Book 2 sales are eligible for this series. The Orby Book 1 sale runs from September 29-30, and Book 2 runs from October 1-2 at Kildare Paddocks. Notable stallions represented in the catalogue include Australia, Blue Point, Dark Angel, Mehmas, Sioux Nation, Starman, Starspangledbanner, Too Darn Hot, and others.
The Goffs Million, with a guaranteed €1 million prize fund, including €500,000 to the winner, is the highlight of the series. This year's event will take place at the Curragh on September 27. Homestrait and Temple Of Athena, purchased for €5,000 and €14,000 respectively, are among the British bonus winners. Evolutionist, a high-profile Book 1 buy, secured the tenth and final UK bonus in the Goffs Two Million Series with a win at Newmarket.
The remaining three bonus races in Ireland will provide the last chances for Irish-trained Orby graduates to grab a €50,000 bonus this year. The series, launched in 2025, has been a resounding success and is confirmed to return in 2026, continuing to enhance the appeal of buying at the Orby sales. Henry Beeby, Goffs group chief executive, stated that the €50,000 bonuses, alongside the Goffs Million, have created a real buzz and added two million reasons to buy at Orby.
This year's Orby Sale, preceding the Curragh's Goffs Million, is expected to be an exciting renewal. Treanmor, the €2 million sale-topper, is also a British bonus winner. The Goffs Two Million Series is on track to see €1 million in total bonuses awarded to owners of Orby graduates this season. The series has undoubtedly injected new energy into the racing scene, promising an exciting future for both buyers and trainers.
